Why use WorkWell?

One of the key objectives of WorkWell is to support individuals with a health condition that is a barrier to remaining in or finding work. We believe that people who are absent from work due to reasons linked to mental health, MSK and respiratory reasons often struggle to return to work after a period of sickness absence. This can be for a variety of reasons, but we believe that by intervening at the earliest possible stage and adopting a preventative approach, it creates more options and is less likely to result in a negative outcome.

There are many services that offer help for people to find work but much less that help people already in work as well as those seeking to find new employment. When individuals face complex situations at work that may lead to unemployment, it can be tricky to know where to refer them with oversubscribed legal services, employees that are not members of a trade union or cannot afford to instruct a solicitor. WorkWell offers help to individuals by assessing their needs and working with them to take practical steps to overcome work and health barriers. These difficulties can be even more so where the person has a disability or complex medical condition. Individuals need clear options, someone to help them weigh up the pros and cons and to guide them through what often seems like an opaque employment landscape. WorkWell can help individuals navigate these challenges, but it requires partner organisations that can link them with us.
